I mean: Chingford!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a quick pic from today&#8217;s events at <strong>South Chingford Library<\/strong>, where I was invited to do my thing as part of this year&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.walthamforest.gov.uk\/index\/news\/literature-festival-2009.htm\">Waltham Forest Literature Festival<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-552 aligncenter\" title=\"chingford220509\" src=\"http:\/\/www.timdefenderoftheearth.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/chingford220509.jpg\" alt=\"chingford220509\" width=\"640\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.timdefenderoftheearth.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/chingford220509.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.timdefenderoftheearth.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/chingford220509-300x132.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I did three sessions of readings and Q&amp;A with Year 7 students from nearby <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lgfl.net\/lgfl\/leas\/waltham-forest\/schools\/heathcote\/web\/index.html\"><strong>Heathcote School<\/strong><\/a>. There were around fifteen students in each group &#8211; smaller audiences than some events I&#8217;ve been doing lately! But that suited the space, and I think the more low-key atmosphere also led to some really terrific and unusual questions, particularly from the third group. I just had to keep remembering not to be too loud, especially in the readings!<\/p>\n<p>This was my first visit to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chingford\"><strong>Chingford<\/strong><\/a>. The fact that the name of the place is so close to that of THE CHINJ in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblacktattoo.com\/\"><strong>Black Tat<\/strong><\/a> made me grin to myself when I got off the bus. Passers-by must have thought I was quite mad.
